Robert Purdy starts as Chief IT Officer at Odido
As of 1 July 2024, Robert Purdy will officially start as the new Chief IT Officer (CIO) at Odido. He continues the work of Lotta Gunnarsson, who has decided to move back to Sweden and step down from her position. Purdy already filled the role on an interim basis since 1 May.
With many years of experience in telecommunication, Robert Purdy is no stranger to our industry. He fulfilled various high-level positions at Truespeed, British Telecom Group, EE, O2 and Orange, and has extensive knowledge about the complex world of IT. Purdy has a proven track record of devising innovative technology solutions combined with a pragmatic implementation.
Søren Abildgaard, CEO: ‘Lotta has been CIO at a very important moment for the organisation: the rebranding towards Odido. Her contribution has been valuable. Lotta chooses to step down and move back to Sweden, and we respect that. I want to thank her for her contribution to our company. With Lotta's departure, we welcome Robert. Has already proved himself during the last month. I have all the confidence that he will excel in bringing Odido's IT team forward and fulfill our ambitions to be the best network in Europe.’
Last year, Odido decided to redefine the role of the Chief Technology & Information Officer. Given the high priority of both our networks and IT systems for the continuity and growth of Odido's business, the company allocates the responsibilities between to 2 directors – one for networks and one for IT. Purdy will be heading the IT department and will participate in the executive committee (ExCo) as a non-statutory company director.
