Odido endorses report on the state of digital infrastructure
The Netherlands' leading position in telecommunications requires constant investment
The Dutch digital infrastructure, including telecommunications networks, data centers, and internet exchanges, ranks among the world's best. However, this leading position also presents challenges. This is evident from the report on the State of Digital Infrastructure in the Netherlands, published today by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. The report pays special attention to the importance of high-quality telecommunications networks for the Dutch economy. Odido endorses this importance and is proud to have contributed to the report through knowledge sharing.
The Netherlands' leading position as a digital hub cannot be taken for granted and requires ongoing attention, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. To bring the importance of this infrastructure to the attention of policymakers, the ministry is presenting the State of Digital Infrastructure today. 'Maintaining and strengthening a secure, reliable, and high-quality digital infrastructure' is a key principle in the report and also constitutes an important priority for the ministry. Furthermore, telecommunications networks are identified by the ministry as one of the five building blocks of digital infrastructure.
Odido welcomes the recognition of the importance of telecommunications networks and is proud to contribute to the Dutch strong digital infrastructure, particularly through the deployment of fiber optic networks for homes and a highly advanced mobile 5G network.
World-class networks
Odido and other Dutch telecommunications providers rank among the world's best with their networks. Dutch telecommunications providers consistently finish at the top of international rankings by benchmark organizations, both for fixed and mobile networks. However, this leading position cannot be taken for granted and requires ongoing attention and investment. At Odido, we are committed daily to providing our customers with an even better network experience through the latest technologies and innovations. We are currently modernizing our mobile network and equipping all 5,000 towers across the Netherlands with new antenna components. This will enable us to offer customers an unprecedented network experience in the future, with unparalleled speeds and even greater capacity.
Advanced telecommunications cannot be taken for granted
Søren Abildgaard, CEO of Odido, welcomes the recognition from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy: "We are pleased that the telecommunications sector is receiving the recognition it deserves through this policy document. The fact that the Netherlands has world-class advanced telecommunications networks cannot be taken for granted and requires constant attention not only from our experts but also from policymakers."
