Odido fixed internet services named best of the Netherlands

Mobile network also scores high with 'outstanding' and is among the world's best

Odido's Internet comes out top in umlaut's national network test. This is according to the benchmark organisation's annual  test results published today. By winning this benchmark, we not only demonstrate the importance of fibre to deliver a consistent network experience, we also show that we are the best in this test with the most consistent internet experience of the Netherlands. Odido's mobile network was also once again labelled 'outstanding', making it one of the top three best mobile networks worldwide. Odido is proud of these achievements as the provider aims to provide its customers with the best network experience in the world and offer its customers access to the latest technological innovations.

The annual network tests conducted by umlaut are considered one of the most influential assessments in the telecommunications sector. With a score of 953 out of 1000 points, Odido achieves the highest score ever recorded among all Dutch operators for its fixed internet services this year. The test results indicate that Odido's fixed internet services stand out particularly in both upload and download speeds, and the latency of the fixed network also performs very well. The combination of these qualities leads umlaut to declare Odido as the winner of the test, providing the most consistent network experience of the Netherlands.

Mobile network scores in global top three again
In addition to its success on the fixed network, Odido's mobile network also scores extremely well, with a place in the global top three. Odido is delighted that its status as a world-leading mobile network has also been reconfirmed this year by umlaut's test results. The benchmark organisation gives Odido's network the best possible designation of 'outstanding'. Odido is currently working hard to achieve a state-of-the-art 5G network, which is why we have already made major changes to our mobile network in 2023 and are continuing these activities in 2024. With these major network changes, we are creating an advanced 5G network that will set a new industry standard with an even better network experience for customers, with unprecedented speeds and extraordinary capabilities to meet the growing need for data.

Johan van den Branden, Chief Network and Operations Officer at Odido: "We are extremely pleased with these results, both with our first win in fixed and our global third place in mobile. Only in 2017 did we enter the fixed services market (under the name T-Mobile Thuis) with the mission to make premium internet and television services more affordable and accessible. Over the past few years, we have learned quickly and this now results in our first benchmark win for our fixed internet."

"We are also very proud of the performance of our mobile network. Because amid major network improvements, we manage to consolidate our place among the three best mobile networks in the world. This result not only highlights that we are truly offering our customers a first-class experience, it also offers great prospects for when the work will be ready by the end of this year.”
