Today, Odido has published a series of videos featuring CEO Søren Abildgaard addressing the cyberattack experienced in early February. The videos, alongside a detailed FAQ about the incident and Odido’s response, are now available at the Odido website.

Søren provides a transparent account of what happened, the lessons learned, and the concrete steps Odido is taking to further strengthen its defenses against the always-evolving cyber threat landscape and protect customers moving forward.

As part of its ongoing response, Odido has announced four key commitments:

  • To continue to invest in organizational capabilities to ensure Odido’s defenses stay up-to-date with the increased sophistication of cyber threats;

  • To continue to offer complementary security measures for customers over the coming months, including the "Check je gesprek" solution to verify legitimate Odido communications, and access to the F-secure digital security service. Odido will also maintain emergency support lines for customers at risk and special care lines for customers over 65;

  • To continuously strengthen Odido’s data security and retention practices;

  • To learn from this experience: Communicating openly with customers and sharing learnings to help protect against new threats from cybercriminals.

Søren Abildgaard said: "I deeply regret that this happened and promise to learn from this experience. Our first priority has been, and remains, trying to support our customers as best we can. We are in no doubt that there is more to do to address concerns, improve as an organization, and earn back trust as we move forward.”

“We’re on a journey; these commitments and the steps we’ve taken thus far are just some of many to make sure Odido is a safer, more resilient place for you and your data.”

Customers seeking to learn more about the incident can refer to the Odido website, where the most up-to-date information has been shared. Customers can also continue to call, use the internet and watch TV safely.
